Kate Nelson - Operations Manager
Kate Nelson moved to Idaho twelve years ago and received a BS and MS from the University of Idaho. Kate was a fitness instructor for 10 years in addition to organizing and promoting special events for the University of Idaho Wellness center. Kate also enjoys volunteering with refugee youth in Boise and has coordinated several youth programs in the Boise area. She recently joined the Power Cordz team to manage Operations for the company. Kate is also a member of the marketing team and assists with special event promotions. Kate is a great asset, even if she shows up to work with scraps and scars from bike wrecks, falls during a triathlon, or kayaking. She has natural character that provides the Power Cordz team with a well rounded dynamic. We welcome her to our team.
Philip Vega - Brand Manager
Phil’s life fully revolves around cycling, both work and play. Back country XC, Epic All-Mountain rides, lift assisted DH riding/racing, and dirt jumping in the park is all part of his regular routine. Similar to his varied riding preferences Vega likes to mix it up in the workplace as well. He’s an accomplished bike mechanic, trail builder, event coordinator, cycling instructor, salesman and marketing specialist having served 12 plus years in the bicycle industry and still loving it. Phil honed his mechanic skills working in various bike shops in Nevada and Idaho and had his own specialty repair business. Later he moved on to work for a large player in the bicycle industry where he built his customer service, sales, and marketing skills that he now uses at Power Cordz. Phil is the Power Cordz go-to bike person. He can address your technical questions as well as give you advice on what tire combo to run in the Whistler bike park. When he’s not at work or on his bicycle Phil can be found screwing around on his MX bike, trail running, or sipping beers with friends near a body of water. During the summer he teaches a series Mtb classes and work with children through the Boise Parks & Rec program. He also volunteers a fair amount of time at the Idaho Velo Park (IVCPA) splitting his duties of coordinating events and building jump and berms.
